5-Hour Energy is one of the fastest-growing beverage companies in the U.S., selling its small energy shots in convenience stores and drug stores. Its sales amount to more than $500 million.

Asked at a Beverage Digest conference in New York whether he planned to sell the business soon or to run it for some time, chief executive Manoj Bhargava said he is "having a lot of fun."

"I don’t run the business to sell it," he said. "But hey, if somebody wants to pay a lot, here it is."

Bhargava says he believes the company can quadruple its sales and number of customers in a few years. He said the company wants to sell more to people aged 50 years and up, and challenge coffee makers for market share.
