Walmart plans to hire about 300 full-time and part-time workers for a new store opening in Holly Springs this summer.

The Cherokee County store will be at I-575 and Holly Springs Parkway at Exit 14. The retailer has opened a hiring center at 154 Lakeside Road in Canton. Applications will be accepted Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com. Veterans may apply at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com.

Most of the new employees will start in April to prepare the store for its opening.

Last month, Walmart said it was hiring 300 workers for a new store opening in Suwanee this spring. The Forsyth County store will be at Peachtree Parkway and Mathis Airport Road
