Atlanta commercial real estate veterans Alan Joel and Dan Granot have merged their firms to form Joel & Granot Commercial Real Estate, a boutique brokerage specializing in local properties.

The firm's services will include tenant representation, investment sales, land sales and property management.  The headquarters for the business, which has 11 employees, is at 962 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta

Joel and Granot have more than 40 years of combined real estate experience. Joel is the 2010 president of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. He started Alan Joel Partners, a commercial real estate brokerage and investment firm, 14 years ago.

Granot began his career in commercial real estate in 1989 with a focus on tenant representation. In 2007, he founded Dan Granot & Co., a full-service firm specializing in tenant representation.

"We've  periodically done deals with each other," Joel said Monday. "Now,  we're combining our expertise for the benefit of clients."

The challenges for commercial real estate are expected to continue in 2010, and Granot said he and Joel can "help clients navigate these challenging times using our combined expertise."
