Verizon Wireless has named an executive from the west coast to run the company's Georgia and Alabama region.

Jonathan LeCompte, Verizon's retail sales director for the Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii region is the new president for Georgia and Alabama, the company said Wednesday.

LeCompte replaces Jeff Mango, who is now a vice president with Verizon Communications. Mango has moved to the company's headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

LeCompte has worked for Verizon for 20 years. He also was the company's acting president for the Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii region and has held executive sales positions.
