Sandy Springs-based UPS is opening three additional driver training facilities.

The new centers are in Dallas, Phoenix and Portland, Ore. The package delivery and logistics service already has UPS Integrad training centers in Franklin Park, Ill., and Landover, Md.

The Phoenix facility opened in October. The Portland facility opens late this quarter, and the Dallas location opens in mid-2015.

The centers, which also provide supervisor training, use 3-D computer simulations, webcast learning modules and traditional classroom instruction to train drivers.

The company said it developed the training program with the help of worked with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Virginia Tech and the Institute of the Future.
