A month after signaling changes to its top international leadership, UPS announced more executive moves Thursday to fill posts affected by the earlier shuffle.
The Sandy Springs-based global package deliverer named Cindy Miller as president of UPS Europe and Derek Woodward as president of its Emerging Markets operation.
Miller, 50, will succeed Jim Barber, who will become president of UPS International after Dan Brutto retires from the post next month. Miller is currently president of UPS U.K., Ireland and Nordics.
The announcements concerning Barber and Brutto, who has been with the company for 38 years, were made in February. The executive changes become effective April 3o.
As head of UPS Europe, Miller will be responsible for operations in 120 countries and territories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has been with the company for 24 years and has held a variety senior leadership positions in the U.S. and Europe. The company said Miller recently led UPS’ efforts to manage the logistics and delivery of more than 30 million items during the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Woodward, 51, who has been with the company for 28 years, will lead a new team focused on developing and implementing the company’s emerging markets strategy. He is currently president of Global Integrations, and the company said he has extensive experience in international markets that have seen rapid growth, such as China.
Brutto said both Miller and Woodward will help UPS take advantage of growth opportunities in emerging markets.
“International trade will continue to grow and UPS is competitively positioned through its superior technology and global integrated logistics network to deliver,” Brutto said in a statement on the appointments.
