Sandy Springs-based UPS is acquiring a logistics firm called i-parcel LLC for cross-border e-commerce.

The deal is aimed at boosting UPS’s logistics capabilities from the United States and United Kingdom to over 100 countries, according to UPS. The company did not disclose terms of the deal.

What i-parcel offers to merchants is low-cost international shipping and technology to give merchants’ websites a “localized look and feel” with the local language, prices in local currency and other features.

Will Gensburg, CEO of i-parcel, said in a written statement that his firm has been “an international bridge linking U.S. and U.K. merchants to global e-commerce consumers throughout the world.” Gensburg will stay with the company.
