For the first time, a UPS driver has gone 50 years without an accident.

Ron Sowder, a driver in Ohio, drives a 306-mile round-trip route five days a week, transporting packages on a tractor-trailer between West Carrollton, Ohio and the UPS air hub in Louisville, Ky.

UPS has more than 5,200 drivers who have gone 25 years without an accident, but Sowder is the first who has not had an accident in five decades. He estimates he has driven more than 4 million miles for UPS.

Sowder has been driving tractor-trailers for the Sandy Springs logistics company since 1976. He started with the company in 1960, delivering packages to businesses and homes.
