A couple corner offices at Twitter may soon be up for grabs. The social networking company is expected to cut loose some of its top people, likely in response to a string of bad months on the stock market.

Re/code reported three executives were leaving their posts in San Francisco: Twitter's senior vice president of engineering, senior vice president of product and vice president of global media.

Late Sunday night, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed four people left the social media company: Senior Vice President of Engineering Alex Roetter, Vice President of Human Resources, Brian "Skip" Schipper, Vice President of Global Media Katie Stanton and Senior Vice President of Product Kevin Weil.

"All four will be taking some well-deserved time off," he said. "I'm personally grateful to each of them for everything they've contributed to Twitter and our purpose in the world."

As these seats are vacated, other hirings may be on the way. The New York Times reported the names of two new board members and a new chief marketing officer will be announced soon.

Twitter has had to print some other new business cards in recent months. Dorsey took back the reigns as CEO of the company last October after being named interim CEO in June. Days later, he announced plans for layoffs.

Experts say Twitter's struggle to gain users at the same pace as other social media sites like Instagram and Snapchat might be driving the overhaul. Not to mention shares of the company's stock have nose-dived nearly 55 percent in the last year.
