What I'm wearing: "This is one of my favorite dresses from BCBG. The stripes are very colorful and bold. I love the mod style and I'm a sucker for wrap dresses. I paired it with cognac-colored boots by Ralph Lauren and a pair of gold hoops my husband gave me for our fifth wedding anniversary. The wooden heart necklace was designed by my brother-in-law, Michael Smith."
Signature style: "Simple, classic, but bold. I like making a lasting impression with my clothes more than with the jewelry."
Best finds: "My patchwork clogs. I purchased them from DSW three years ago and still get compliments. They were originally $80, on sale for 50 percent off, and I used my DSW reward points and got them for $25. I love them!"
Fashion weakness:"Boots. They are one reason I love this time of the year and I will wear them until mid-spring. I have an assortment of styles, ranging from my favorite cowboy boots to my tall Ralph Lauren lace-ups to my most recent black suede and leather 7 For All Mankind purchase."
Favorite stores: "I love shopping at Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Francesca's and BCBG. My new online store is Piperlime.com and I have found terrific bargains through my Shopstyle app on my iPad."
Fashion inspiration: "I get my fashion inspiration from my mom and her sisters. They are consciously stylish. I also get some inspiration from my favorite magazines such as Lucky, Essence and InStyle."
Pet peeve: "Writing or any type of embroidery on your derrière. It's like having a bumper sticker on your fanny."
Best fashion compliment: "My biggest compliments always come from my husband. Everyone knows 'that special look' your guy gives you when you look good."
