The $12 million redevelopment of Sandy Plains Village in Roswell has been completed, the owner said Thursday.

The Cobb County project, located at Alabama Road NE and Sandy Plains Road, includes a 60,000-square-foot Walmart Neighorhood Market and a 45,000-square-foot Movie Tavern, according to DDR Corp. The movie complex, which has 11 auditoriums, features in-theater dining.

The project also includes a Dollar Tree retail store. The shopping complex near the Chatsworth subdivision formerly was anchored by a Kroger grocery store, a Stein Mart, several restaurants and other businesses.

DDR, a Beachwood, Ohio-based real estate investment trust, said the redeveloped complex is 90 percent leased. The company is a major owner and developer of retail properties, including dozens in metro Atlanta and Georgia.
