Metro Atlantans don't have to look far for the best jobs on CareerCast.com's latest "Jobs Related 2013" list. Many among the 200 are in demand right here, according to the state Labor Department.
Actuaries, who manage financial risks for insurers, health care companies and others, recaptured the No. 1 spot after losing it to software engineers in 2011 and 2012.
Following actuary, the next best jobs for 2013 are biomedical engineer, software engineer, audiologist, financial planner, dental hygienist, occupational therapist, optometrist, physical therapist and computer systems analyst.
CareerCast says its ranking is based on income potential, employment outlook, work environment and level of stress. The report relies on data from government agencies, trade groups and private firms.
