The nearly 3,600 property owners who bought into the lifestyle of Reynolds Plantation planted roots not just for the plush amenities, but also the privacy afforded by its remote Lake Oconee location and gated access.
That privacy has been broken by the airing of dirty laundry after the community’s developer asked homeowners in February to buy the money-losing golf courses, clubhouses and other key assets for about $45 million.
Property owners will vote on the deal Friday. Many have gone to the blogosphere to protest the deal.
How the vote will break isn’t certain. But what is clear is that property owners contacted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are on edge.
The AJC takes a look at the decision by members of one of the state’s richest communities to buy the distressed golf courses and clubhouses.
