A metro Atlanta development team that plans a $500 million mixed-use community in Roswell has unveiled renderings of the project.

Duke Land Group has proposed a 104-acre development near Holcomb Bridge Road and Ga. 400 called Riverwalk Village, a blend of more than 1,500 residences, shops and mid-rise office buildings. But that’s scaled back from a pre-recession plan for the site, when a previous developer had envisioned a $2 billion mini-city of high-rise condos and office towers known as Roswell East.

The project is expected to retain much of its land as parks and natural areas. The property currently houses an apartment community.

The Forsyth Herald reported last week that the project could be brought before Roswell leaders later this year.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported the company's plans in November.
