Why Atlanta is again the No. 1 moving destination

Thinking of moving to Atlanta? Recently moved to Atlanta? You’re not alone.

Penske Truck Rental announced its annual list of top moving destinations within the U.S., and Atlanta takes the top spot for the sixth year in a row. With a median household income of $56,166, a median home price of $180,900 and 217 sunny days year, the area is attracting movers at a pre-recession pace.

“Our own data, compiled from do-it-yourself moves across the country, mirror the country’s migration and areas of growth,” Don Mikes, Penske’s senior vice president of rental, explained in a news release.
