PricewaterhouseCoopers is moving -- along with 1,100 employees -- from the Millennium Building in Midtown to new digs a few blocks away at the recently built 1075 Peachtree Building.

The company has signed a lease for 16 years with 1075 Peachtree and will occupy five floors in the building, which is part of Daniel Corp.'s 12th and Midtown mixed-use development. It expects to move in mid-2012.

The move represents another shuffle of offices as the metro’s oversupply of office space has made retaining tenants highly competitive. Other companies moving their offices include the ad agency JWT, the architecture firm HKS Inc. and the Reznick Group.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has been at the Millennium Building for 10 years. The addition of PricewaterhouseCoopers will bring occupancy at the 38-floor 1075 Peacthree to almost 60 percent.

The accounting firm chose 1075 Peachtree because it has an LEED-certified silver rating for green construction and to use the Loews Atlanta hotel next door to accommodate clients, hold training and conduct conferences, said Audrey Califf, speaking on behalf of the company.

PricewaterhouseCoopers also polled employees, who overwhelming elected to stay in Midtown, she said.
