PointClear Solutions, a Birmingham healthcare software development company, said it will relocate its headquarters to Atlanta and add to its local workforce in coming years.

PointClear opened an office in Marietta in February 2012 and moved it to Perimeter Center East in Dunwoody in December. The new headquarters also will be in Dunwoody.

The company will have 25 staffers when it completes its move to metro Atlanta, which is half of its work force. The company projects it will add 100 to 200 technology employees over the next three years.

“We made the decision to move our corporate headquarters to Atlanta due to the large footprint of health IT companies and the breadth of academic and technology resources it offers,” said David Karabinos, PointClear’s chief executive officer said in in announcing the move.

Georgia’s 13,000 technology companies employ more than 260,000 people.

PointClear will continue to have offices in Birmingham, Huntsville and Nashville, a spokesman said.
