The developers of a mixed-use mini-city near Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County said Friday they have a deal in place for a hotel that will cater in part to the A-list talent working at the bustling movie studio.
New Hampshire-based Hay Creek Hotels has signed on to operate a 95-room boutique hotel that will feature suites for celebrities, meeting space, a pool, spa and high-end restaurant, according to a news release from Pinewood Forrest.
Pinewood Forrest is a 234-acre community planned by partners including Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy. Plans call for about 1,300 residences, restaurants, retail and medical facilities. The partners say they want to create a walkable and multi-generational community of artists and other creative thinkers.
The project is adjacent to the Pinewood campus near Fayetteville, where projects including Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man have filmed. Cathy is also a key investor in the studio campus, which is being expanded amid the state's movie-making boom.
Atlanta-based Crow Hospitality Investment Group will develop the hotel, which Hay Creek, will manage. Hay Creek operates boutique hotels largely in New England. Properties include The Beach House Inn in Kennebunk, Maine, the Beacon Street Hotel in Boston and Zero George Street in Charleston, S.C.
Also on Friday, Pinewood Forrest announced it will soon open the first phase of home sites for sale and that it has hired luxury brokerage Ansley Atlanta to market and sell properties. The community will also feature an environmentally friendly building certification program and a “builders guild” of eight to 10 home builders.
Rob Parker, the newly appointed president of Pinewood Forrest, said the project will be “the most innovative mixed-use development in the Southeast.”
