A Missouri company will open a paper products plant next year in Macon that will employ more than 200 workers, the governor’s office announced Friday.

Kansas City-based Aspen Products Inc. provides paper plates, cups, bowls and lunch bags to retailers, private labels and food service companies. The 200,000-square-foot manufacturing plant will be in Macon’s Airport Industrial Park.

Production is expected to start early next year, and hiring is under way, the governor’s office said.

On Tuesday, the office announced that KOPLA, a South Korean company that specializes in engineering plastics resin that can be used to make car bumpers and dashboard trim, will build a plant in West Point in Troup County, creating 150 jobs.

Last month, Hyundai Dymos, a South Korean automotive company, announced it will produce seats for Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, which is also in West Point. Hyundai Dymos is expected to begin hiring 350 workers in January and start production next November.
