The well-known Atlanta airport mural of kids at Centennial Olympic Park is greeting inbound travelers once more, but it’s only a temporary reappearance.

Since last spring, the mural had been covered up by a Porsche ad. Different Porsche ads have since appeared in the space, which is in a can’t-miss-it space at the top of the main escalator most arriving travelers use to get from the people-mover tunnel to the domestic terminal.

The most recent ad was removed to make way for installation of a digital screen, scheduled to be put in place in late February or early March, Hartsfield-Jackson spokesman Reese McCranie said.

In the interim, it’s possible another ad could go up on top of the mural, but if not the mural will be on display until the digital screen goes in.

The airport has the original digital file of the mural but hasn’t yet determined what will happen with the mural once the screen goes up, McCranie said.
