Chick-fil-A’s first New York City restaurant has reopened Tuesday, after it closed for nearly a week due to health code violations.

Health officials there cited it for several code violations, including the presence of fruit flies.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A had planned to open for breakfast Monday morning but said more time was needed to fix violations. They also included failure to maintain cold food temperatures, improper storage of an empty container and unsanitized wiping cloths.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience and look forward to serving them soon,” said restaurant in the online posting.

It was a quick reversal of fortune for the three-story store, which had been seeing record revenue. It is in the tony fashion district at 6th and 37th avenues.

Fans at its October opening stood in line for as much as 30 minutes to make it inside for the chain’s signature chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Media covered the opening with the same pomp and circumstance usually held for the coming of the newest iPhone or the new “Star Wars” movie.

The store incorporated many features to cater to an urban customer base, with service aimed at handling heavy foot traffic since there is no drive-thru.
