Military plane exercises planned for Thursday morning could bring some low-flying aircraft over metro Atlanta.

Weather permitting, the Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region plans to conduct aircraft training flights in the greater Atlanta area from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Some portions of the flights will be at about 3,500 feet "and may be visible from the ground," according to the Eastern Air Defense Sector, which is working with NORAD on the exercise.

The exercise will include Air National Guard F-16 aircraft taking off from McEntire Joint National Guard Base near Eastover, S.C. as well as Air Force KC-135 and Civil Air Patrol C-182 training flights.

If weather disrupts the plan to conduct the exercise, it will be canceled and rescheduled.
