Another mixed-use apartment tower is planned in Midtown by Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development.

The proposed 23-story building with retail at the bottom and 320 apartments will be at the corner of 6th Street at Juniper Street in the spot formerly occupied by Loca Luna. If approved, the project, called 100 6th Street, would be the third high-rise apartment underway in Midtown.

Novare and Batson-Co0k have the 23-story Skyhouse going up on 12th Street. Daniel Corp and Selig Enterprises have a 23-story complex under construction on 12th Street.

Apartment building nearly stopped during the recession, but people continued moving into town to follow jobs and entertainment. The number of renters in metro Atlanta has also climbed as fallout from the foreclosure crisis.
