NCR, the Duluth technology company, has inked a deal to bring 30,000 ATMs to Brazil in the next five years.

NCR is partnering with Scopus Tecnologia to increase the ATM market in Brazil.

“This is a bold, strategic, and transformative alliance that is perfectly aligned with our corporate strategy as it expands and strengthens our geographic presence and sales coverage,” said NCR Chairman and CEO Bill Nuti said in a statement.

NCR has been manufacturing ATMs in Brazil since 2009. As part of the deal, Scopus Tecnologia will acquire a 49 percent equity stake in NCR's Brazilian manufacturing and engineering operations.

Brazil is the fourth-largest ATM market in the world. Globally, financial systems are a $2.5 billion annual business for NCR.

NCR said the alliance is a foundation for other collaboration between the companies.
