Mortgage rates down

Freddie Mac's mortgage survey shows fixed rate mortgages hit new average record lows this week.

Thirty-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 3.66 percent interest for the week ending June 21. Last week it was 3.71 percent, and last year at this time it averaged 4.5 percent.

Fixed-rate 15-year mortgages were lower also, averaging 2.95 percent. A year ago at this time, the 15-year mortgage averaged 3.69 percent.
