$19 million home for sale in Buckhead

This is a view from the back courtyard of Descante. Beacham and Co. Realtors held an invitation-only open house to introduce Descante, a $19 million home on the market in Buckhead, to real estate agents Tuesday.

This circus-themed piece of artwork is on display in the formal living room at Descante. It is by Gloria Stuart, the actress who played 100-year-old Rose DeWitt Bukater in "Titanic."

The kitchen includes unique lighting and one of the nine fireplaces in the estate.

Jim Warwick of Beacham and Co. Realtors takes a look at the Descante brochure in the formal dining room at the estate. The floors are 170-year-old Versailles parquet.

In the library at Descante can be found a 14-foot fireplace taken from Cambridge Univerisity. A second fireplace from Cambridge is in the solarium. The estate has a total of nine fireplaces, all antique, from the 17th to 19th centuries.

In the billiards room, Carlos Nadal paintings fill the walls.

The dinosaur footprint embedded in the stone kitchen floor is reportedly 70 million years old.

Descante has some whimsical features, such as unicorn door knockers. The fountain in the front courtyard is a 16th-century English baptismal fountain with a biblical scene.

Bridget and Jerry Dobson, the owners of Descante, have a room for their two grandchildren with a collection of toys and whimsical characters.

The second powder room at Descante includes an American Indian mortar and pestle, converted to a sink, from the Dobsons' California ranches.

An Etruscan boy statue, circa 500-800, stands at one end of the main hallway on the main level of Descante. The estate includes two caretaker apartments, a pool house and a third guest apartment under the pool house.

Originally tiling the pool with biblical scenes, the Dobsons later added fairy tale scenes.
