Metro Atlanta home sales fell in March from a year ago, even as spring sales start to pick up.

Single-family home sales dropped 12.6 percent from the prior March, according to data from the Atlanta Board of Realtors. At the same time, prices continue to rise. The median sales price of $208,000 was 16.9 percent higher than a year ago.

March sales and prices both picked up from February.

“The month over month increases in single family residential sales signals the entrance of a robust spring housing market,” Atlanta Board of Realtors president Todd Emerson said in a statement.
