Atlanta-based LawDocsXpress, a provider of cloud-based legal services to law firms and other private and governmental clients, said co-founder Sharon Quaintance has left the company.

Co-founder and Chairman Catherine Massey will assume the role of chief executive officer immediately. Quaintance sold her interest in the company and is pursuing a new business opportunity, Massey said. The company did not reveal the new opportunity.

LawDocsXpress’ website said Quaintance was the architect of LawDocsXpress’ operational processes and technology platform, and was an inventor on the LawDocsXpress patent application.

LawDocsXpress also did not provide details of Quaintance’s equity transaction, which Massey, in a release, said had been in the planning stages for months.

The company, founded in 2002, provides legal secretarial, word processing and other support services.
