What makes a good leader?

“A good leader is committed to the organization’s mission, vision and goals. The role of a good leader is to simply be an example, establish credibility with others, have integrity, diligence, humility and empower others.”

What are you most proud of in your career?

“My proven track record [as] an accomplished leader and driver of change and success.”

Who has inspired or mentored you?

“My mother has been an inspiration to me. She did not have the opportunity to attend college, but instilled in me a passion for learning. Her faith and resilience helped to mold me into the hard-working woman I am.”

What’s your favorite thing to do away from work?

“Read and relax on the beach.”

Who’s your favorite fictional nurse? Why?

“Julia Baker, played by Diahann Carroll, from the television series ‘Julia.’ Julia Baker is my favorite fictional nurse because she was the first African-American nurse portrayed in a television series.
