More than 700 construction workers are toiling under the hot summer sun as the Kia manufacturing facility in West Point moves toward completion.

The 450,000 square foot Kia paint shop is under construction in West Point. The plant is scheduled to begin production in November 2009.

Randy Jackson, Kia Georgia's director for human resources and administration, says the company's suppliers are expected to add another 6,000 jobs to the area.

More than 700 construction workers are toiling under the hot summer sun as the facility moves toward completion.

The $1.2 billion plant, the South Korean car manufacturer's first in the United States, is expected to employ at least 2,500 workers.

Constructions workers put together a conveyer belt between the assembly plant and the paint shop.
