Kia Trackster concept car is unveiled at the media preview for the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.

Kia displayed its new concept, the Trackster at the Chicago Auto Show. Based on its Soul subcompact SUV, the Trackster is powered by a 247-hp engine (with a 6-speed manual transmission) - that's a boost from the Soul's 164 hp, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine.

Created in Kia's California design studio, the boxy concept is designed to showcase what a sporting version of the subcompact Soul crossover could look like.

Changes include bigger wheels and a narrower, sporty window opening along the side.

While the Trackster may never see production, some of its ingenuity could be added to the Soul. Visitors to the Chicago Auto Show get a glimpse of the 2012 Kia Soul.

The Kia Naimo electric car concept powered with a motor capable of hitting 107-horsepower and reaching a top speed of 93 mph.

Kia followed up its Super Bowl "Sandman" commercial, revealing its top-of-the-line Kia Optima SX Limited model at the Chicago Auto Show. Built at Kia's West Point, Ga., assembly plant, the Optima features 18-inch chrome wheels, red front brake calipers, LED daytime running lights, a chrome-accented spoiler and unique door sills. It will be in showrooms come March.
