Georgia Distilling Co. says it has signed a deal with Motiv Films of Santa Monica, Calif. to develop a reality television show featuring the distillery project and the residents of Jackson, Ga.

As previously reported by the AJC, Georgia Distilling is one of a handful of small distilleries in the deep South. The company's founders trace their families' histories of moonshining and bootlegging back several generations. Now, they are building a 10,000 square-foot distillery out in the open -- near the center of town and possibly on television.

Motiv Films' portfolio includes commercials for brands such as Major League Baseball and Ragu, as well as country music videos for Sugarland, Taylor Swift and others.

"Their expertise in design and production of quality material will make them a fantastic partner in this venture," Georgia Distilling founders Bill Mauldin and Shawn Hall said in a statement.
