Jackson Healthcare plans to announce a $100 million expansion of its Alpharetta campus along with the addition of as many as 1,400 jobs over the next five years.

The company, which is based in Alpharetta, is the corporate parent to a number of healthcare firms. It expects the new jobs to be the kind of healthcare positions that it currently handles.

For example, one of Jackson's best-known arms is LocumTenens.com, a physician recruitment agency.

Among other subsidiaries are:

— Jackson Nurse Professionals, a staffing company that specializes in placement of registered nurses

— Jackson Pharmacy Professionals, which recruits and places pharmacist

— Tyler & Company, an executive search company that is focused on healthcare

— Jackson Executives, an executive staffing firm for healthcare, and

— Virtual Medical Staff, a telemedicine provider
