The first Hooters location in Japan will open Monday, with the Tokyo location marking the 30th international country for the Atlanta-based wing chain.

"We are very excited about this opportunity to open a Hooters in Japan," said John Weber, executive vice president of franchise operations. "The combination of population density, economic strength and demand for iconic American culture makes us believe this will be the first of many successful locations in the country."

The company said it plans to open an additional 11 restaurants by the end of the year, including seven in international markets including Germany, Wales, Ecuador and Spain. Hooters currently has 470 restaurants in 44 states and 30 foreign countries.
