Atlanta-based HoneyBaked Ham said it will hire hundreds of part-timers to prepare for its busiest season for selling ham, turkey breasts and other products.

The company, which has more than 10,000 workers across the country, normally has about three to five employees in its stores and franchise locations. That number will increase to 30 to 40 staffers during the weeks around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

A HoneyBaked spokesman said 70 to 75 percent of the company’s annual revenue is generated during the holidays.

“Company-wide, HoneyBaked anticipates more than 2.5 million customers during the holiday season, from Thanksgiving through the start of the new year,” Chief Operating Officer Maggie DeCan said in announcing the openings.

The company has 22 corporate-owned locations in metro Atlanta and, combined with franchise locations, there are more than 400 HoneyBaked locations nationwide.
