HoneyBaked, the chain known for its hams and turkeys, is adding 620 jobs to its metro Atlanta stores for the holiday season.

The company, which has about 25 stores across north Georgia, said it is hiring the seasonal help because it expects more than 1 million customers during the holidays and will sell nearly 8 million pounds of hams and turkeys.

The number of seasonal hires is about the same as in past years, but recent sales figures are up, a company executive said.

HoneyBaked has four corporate divisions across the country, the largest of which is in Alpharetta.

Nationally, HoneyBaked said it will hire more than 6,300 seasonal workers for its almost 400 stores. The temporary jobs, which will end Jan. 1., increase the company’s total work force by about 200 percent, HoneyBaked said.
