Next week, Home Depot will be reopening a Missouri store that was destroyed by a tornado last spring.

The Joplin store will reopen Wednesday, the company said. It had been closed since May, when a tornado ripped through the city, destroying businesses and killing 160 people, including several at the Home Depot.

The new Home Depot store, which is built on the site of the previous store, will include a memorial to the employee and customers who were killed there. The Home Depot Foundation will also make a $500,000 donation toward Joplin's recovery fund.

A temporary store had been open in the community since June.
