Home Depot has named a new executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Teresa Wynn Roseborough replaces Jack VanWoerkom, who retired in June after four years with the company.

Roseborough comes from MetLife, where she was most recently deputy general counsel for the company. Previously, she was a partner at Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan where she focused on complex litigation matters and argued before the United States Supreme Court.

She has also been deputy assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice and served as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

Roseborough was named one of 25 influential black women in business by The Network Journal. She received her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
