Trainlete, an Atlanta-based website that connects sports enthusiasts with personal trainers, is being acquired by Bookacoach, an online marketplace for booking sports lessons.

Bookacoach said Trainlete’s database of coaches will allow Bookacoach to expand its services in the Southeast. The deal includes the acquisition of Trainlete’s technology and online coaching resources. The value of the deal, however, was not disclosed

Trainlete founder Jeremy Clouse will become a consultant to Bookcoach. Clouse, who graduated from the University of Georgia with an economics degree, founded Trainlete to connect trainers and athletes, hence its name. The website allows clients to search for trainers by sport, state or rate per session. Payments and scheduling are between customer and trainer.

The coaches in Trainlete’s database will undergo Bookacoach’s background check. Bookacoach calls itself the nation’s largest online sports lesson marketplace of county level background checked coaches.
