Gas prices continued to edge lower in Georgia this week with most grades selling for about a nickel less than a week ago.
The average price for a gallon of unleaded regular Monday was $3.30, down from $3.35 last Monday, according to AAA. Other grades were down as well: mid-grade was $3.48, down from $3.53; premium was $3.63, down from $3.68; and diesel was $3.74, down from $3.81.
The price for regular is 24 cents below what it was a month ago and 28 cents lower than this time last year.
In Atlanta, the average price was a bit higher, at $3.34. Augusta reported the lowest price in the state, well below the average at $3.13. Georgia's average price is 24 cents below the national average of $3.54.
The cheapest gas in metro Atlanta was $3.09 at an Exxon station on Lenora Church Road in Snellville. Several retailers, including Costco, QuikTrip, RaceTrac, Murphy, RaceWay and Kroger, were selling for under $3.15 at various locations, according to AtlantaGasPrices.com.
