HomeSafe Georgia, a little-used program to help unemployed and under-employed Georgians get forgivable loans to pay mortgages, will be explained Saturday, May 12, at West Georgia Technical College for residents of Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson counties.

The program starts at 9 a.m. and last until 1 p.m. at 401 Adamson Square.

To be eligible, your mortgage should have been current prior to unemployment, be no more than six months in arrears and worth less than $417,000. Payments must be greater that 25 percent of household income; there can be no tax liens; and you must be a legal resident of Georgia

Applicants should brings documents such as mortgage and loan documents, pay stubs, tax records, and identification. More information at www.HomeSafeGeorgia.com.
