The Four Seasons Atlanta and Sea Island’s Lodge Golf Club and the Cloister continued their reign at the top of the hotel heap as each has been awarded five stars from the 2016 Forbes Travel Guide.

Getting the coveted five stars is important to hotels because it helps them command top dollar for rooms and brings prestige in the ultra-competitive lodging industry.

“This prestigious award is a wonderful recognition of the continuous hard work and dedication of the Four Seasons staff who pride themselves on creating exceptional travel experiences for all of our guests, including some of the world’s most discerning travelers,” said Yvette Thomas-Henry, general manager of Four Seasons Atlanta. “We are thrilled to continue to be recognized as a Forbes Five-Star property in Atlanta’s competitive luxury market.”

For The Lodge at Sea Island the Forbes designation comes just weeks after it was named the best hotel in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

“Sea Island is proud to receive this prestigious recognition eight years in a row,” Scott Steilen, president of Sea Island, said of receiving Forbes’ five stars. “We are extremely appreciative of our passionate team members, who consistently show our guests the true meaning of gracious hospitality.”

Sea Island’s Georgian Room restaurant and The Spa at Sea Island also received five stars in their respective categories.

The state also fared well with four star hotels, restaurants and spas.

Four star hotels: Atlanta’s InterContinental Buckhead, Loews Atlanta, Mandarin Oriental Atlanta,The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead and the St. Regis Atlanta.

Other Georgia four-star hotels include The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds at Lake Oconee, Barnsley Resort in Adairsville and Savannah’s Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront and Hamilton-Turner Inn.

Four star restaurants: Atlanta’s Bacchanalia, Park 75 and Restaurant Eugene. Rice House in Adairsville and Colt & Alison at the Lodge at Sea Island.

Four-star spas: Remede Spa at The St. Regis Atlanta and the Ritz-Carlton Spa Buckhead.
