Georgia Skies is an airline offering Atlanta-to-Macon flights, but it has few passengers. Recently Celelia Ewan (left) and Christopher Pelletier were the lone paying passengers other than AJC staff and Georgia Skies personnel.

Boo Dodgen from Niceville, Fla., was the only passenger on another flight between Atlanta and Macon. Federally subsidized airline flights between Atlanta and Macon have attracted so few passengers that the U.S. DOT has been paying a subsidy of $464 per passenger.

Commercial flights stack up on the runway at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Monday, July 12, ahead of the Georgia Skies morning flight to Macon. After Delta Connection pulled its Macon flights and the new federally-subsidized carrier Georgia Skies started, passenger traffic on the route dropped significantly.
