July 8, 2013

Atlanta-based Equifax, the credit bureau and information services company, said Monday it acquired a California-based identity protection and online reputation monitoring firm for an undisclosed sum.

TrustedID will fold into the division of Equifax that sells credit monitoring and other services to consumers, the company said in a news release. Equifax has been growing its credit protection and personal data security business in recent years, both through acquisitions and new product development.
