Five companies headquartered in DeKalb made the list of Top Workplaces in Atlanta 2016, according to a recent contest by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and its partner, Workplace Dynamics.
Here are the top workplaces with headquarters in DeKalb County:
Specializing in modern interior design for businesses, Corporate Environments takes decorating the office to a new level. According to its website, the company has "over 25 years of proven experience in helping clients develop their space to create an environment that is impressive, efficient and inviting." Past projects have included renovating the corporate offices of Cousins Properties, Coca-Cola and AutoTrader.com in Atlanta.
The company employs about 50 people at its headquarters in Brookhaven, and this is the second consecutive year Corporate Environments has made the list of Atlanta’s Top Workplaces.
This student housing real estate company provides services to its clients ranging from property management and development to consulting. Though it only employs about 90 people at its headquarters in Brookhaven, Peak Campus manages properties across the country with more than 1,000 employees nationwide. According to its website, the company manages housing units with more than 52,000 beds for college students, making it the second-largest privately owned student-housing company in the U.S.
Peak Campus was founded in 2011, and this is its third consecutive year as one of Atlanta’s Top Workplaces.
Headquartered in Brookhaven, this nonprofit organization provides senior care through three satellite locations in metro Atlanta, including one facility in Cobb. For more than 110 years, the organization has provided therapy, rehabilitation, short-term recovery and long-term care for senior patients.
Across all of its locations, A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab employs about 600 people. This is the third consecutive year it has been included on the list of top workplaces in Atlanta.
Enrolling more than 600 students from age 3 through grade 8, St. Martin's Episcopal School offers small class sizes and an intimate learning environment. According to its website, it is "a Christian school with an Episcopal identity, but [it] educates children of many faiths." Founded in 1959 as a pre-school, St. Martin's has since grown to encompass a campus with seven acres of land and four facilities.
Located in Brookhaven, St. Martin’s Episcopal School employs more than 100 people.
With its headquarters in Scottdale, northeast of Decatur, Toyota Forklifts of Atlanta has three additional locations in Lithia Springs, Augusta and Lawrenceville. Since 1973, the company has specialized in selling and renting both new and preowned forklifts. It also offers repair services and provides training for those wishing to learn how to operate a forklift in the workplace.
Across all of its locations, Toyota Forklifts of Atlanta employs more than 160 people. The company has been named one of Atlanta’s top workplaces for three years in a row.
