Summer usually makes you think of taking some time off, but it can also be a good time to find a new job in metro Atlanta. Companies continue to hire since many have steady business year-round, and you're also likely to see schools make a push toward hiring for the fall.

Gwinnett County Public Schools

Gwinnett County Public Schools will host job fairs for teacher candidates this July. They'll be held from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 and 18 and from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 20. All job fairs will be held at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, Suwanee.

To attend, you should be a certified teacher, a recent college graduate of a teacher education program, and meet GCPS hiring criteria. Human Resource staff members will be on-site to determine if applicants are eligible for interviews, and letters of intent will be offered to high-quality candidates.

WellStar

WellStar's Atlanta Medical Center and Atlanta Medical Center South hospitals are hiring nurses and will host a virtual career fair from 7-9:30 a.m. and from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17 to answer questions about these openings.

Nursing jobs are available in many areas, including the cath lab, emergency, inpatient rehab unit, orthopedic trauma unit, operating room, and wound care. Click here to register for this virtual event.

UPS

Atlanta-based UPS placed fifth on a list of companies posting the most job openings in July on Monster.com. The company has plenty of openings in Atlanta and is looking to fill positions for a compliance audit manager, plant engineering part-time supervisor, financial analysis supervisor, real estate supervisor, and more. You'll also find openings for UPS in Alpharetta, including jobs for a data scientist, healthcare compliance audit supervisor, and revenue management reporting specialist.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

The world's busiest airport is looking to fill around 250 positions including those in management, supervisory, and concession roles. Job perks can include benefits, parking passes and MARTA cards.

New Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, is hosting a job fair to help fill these positions. It's scheduled for 9:30 a.m.-noon on Sunday, July 14.
