For the 11th consecutive year, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and AJCjobs is honoring and celebrating nurses throughout metro Atlanta and Georgia.

Again this year, from hundreds of nominations, an independent panel of judges has chosen 10 extraordinary nursing professionals to represent thousands of their colleagues at the annual Nursing Excellence Awards.

Held during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, this year’s luncheon was on May 10 at Cobb Galleria.

Pat Lincoln from Eastside Medical Center was among the honorees who went above and beyond the call of duty to make a significant impact on their patients.

Lincoln was nominated by her CNO, Stuart Downs, who in part, wrote: “Pat is always going above and beyond for her patients. She demonstrates “Ownership is Excellence” in all she does, and she's an intelligent, compassionate nursing professional who always goes out of her way to selflessly care for others and give to those in need. Pat, you are a hero at EMC!! She clearly demonstrates behavior that is consistent with our mission, and the patient promise she has made through her commitment to improve human life.”
