If you need to earn some cash this summer to fund your fun in the sun, you're in the right place. Atlanta is among the 20 best U.S. cities for summer jobs, according to a report from WalletHub.com.

WalletHub's analysts compared the 150 most populated American cities using two key areas: "Youth Job-Market Outlook" and "Social Environment and Affordability." There were 18 metrics identified and weighted across both areas, including:

  • Percentage of population ages 16 to 24
  • Unemployment rate of the population ages 16 to 24
  • Ratio of part-time to full-time workers
  • Median income of part-time workers
  • Availability of summer jobs
  • Minimum wage

The weighted averages for all metrics were added and compared, bringing Atlanta's total score to 57.20 and its ranking to No. 16.

Additionally, Atlanta placed fourth for the highest availability of summer jobs per capita and tied with three other cities (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Washington, DC) as the number one spot for internships per capita.

Columbus was the only other Georgia city on the list, barely making the cut at No. 150 with a total score of 26.66.
