Middle East airline Emirates is holding an event in Atlanta to hire flight attendants to be based in Dubai.

Emirates will hold its "Cabin Crew Recruitment Open Day" on May 30 at 9 a.m. at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel. Those interested can pre-register online.

The airline said it plans to hire more than 5,000 flight attendants this year as it grows its fleet and adds new routes. The company said it does not disclose specific salaries because they vary with exchange rates.

Emirates is one of three Gulf carriers that Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines and other U.S. carriers say are receiving unfair subsidies that have fueled their expansion. The Gulf carriers say the U.S. airlines are trying to block competition.
