The fruit bouquet-maker Edible Arrangements on Thursday said it plans to open what it calls a “second headquarters” in the Atlanta area, creating 50 jobs in the near-term and 200 overall.

The Wallingford Conn.-based company, which has about 1,300 franchised stores worldwide, said the new office will be the base of operations for a new president of Edible Brands, who will oversee the company’s franchise operations and base a team the company says will support new growth and products. A location was not announced, but the company said it is reviewing its real estate options.

Beyond fruit arrangements, the company also offers smoothies and other snacks to-go.

Georgia and the Atlanta area are home to a number of major food services companies, including fast food giants Arby'sChick-fil-A and the Focus Brands portfolio of Moe's Southwest Grill, Schlotzky's and Cinnabon under investment firm Roark Capital.
